At Formr, every sculpture we create is handmade, unique, and crafted with care. Many of our pieces exceed 1 metre in size, meaning they require a higher level of handling and protection than standard parcels can provide. For that reason, we use specialised art couriers for all larger sculptures—because when it comes to shipping one-of-a-kind art, ordinary transport simply isn’t enough.
Why Size and Fragility Matter
Once a sculpture exceeds 1 metre, its shape, weight, and curvature make it difficult to package and protect using standard courier methods. Even with layers of bubble wrap, cardboard, and corner guards, automated sorting systems and conveyor belts can create impact points that risk cracking or surface damage.
Art couriers, on the other hand, handle each piece by hand. They understand how to load, secure, and deliver art safely, using blankets, foam supports, and purpose-built crates designed for delicate finishes.
What Happens if You Choose a Standard Courier
If a client decides not to ship via an art courier, insurance and refunds are automatically void. Once a sculpture leaves our studio through a non-approved courier, we cannot guarantee its condition upon arrival, nor claim compensation for transit damage. We’ve made this policy transparent to protect both your investment and the integrity of our work.
Our Approach to Careful Delivery
Every large-scale Formr sculpture is:
-
Individually assessed for size, shape, and surface sensitivity
-
Professionally packed with multiple protective layers
-
Delivered via trusted art logistics partners who specialise in fragile and high-value goods
We choose art couriers not only for reliability, but because each sculpture deserves the same level of respect it was created with.
A Promise of Quality, from Studio to Wall
Our goal is to ensure your piece arrives exactly as it left our hands—ready to hang, flawless, and secure. By choosing professional art couriers for all sculptures over 1 metre, we can stand behind our promise of craftsmanship and quality.
