Understanding the Measurements

Measure your wall

Step 1

Measure your wall

Measure the available width and height, allowing space around the artwork for slight variations up to 10cm.

Check the proportions

Step 2

Check the proportions

Use painter’s tape or paper to mark the proposed size on your wall if required, this will help you confirm sizing from corner to corner.

Confirm the placement

Step 3

Confirm the placement

Consider furniture, viewing distance and the final position before ordering, and as always, reach out if you require assistance.

Corner-to-Corner | Pythagorean theorem measurements

Measurement preparation & expectations

Every FORMR sculpture is a one-of-a-kind piece, individually crafted with its own unique folds, curves and proportions. Unlike traditional furniture or objects with defined geometric shapes, our sculptures are organic in form and do not follow conventional length, height and depth measurements. This is called Pythagorean theorem or as we know it to be "corner-to-corner.

To help you prepare your space and understand what to expect, we've outlined our approach to measurements and fabrication below.

How we measure

Our sculptures are measured corner to corner (Pythagorean theorem), much like a television screen, rather than by traditional length, height and depth.

Due to the irregular and sculptural nature of each piece, measurements are intended as an overall size reference rather than exact dimensions at every point. The finished sculpture may vary slightly in its overall proportions depending on how the folds and contours develop during fabrication.

Preparing your space

When planning where your FORMR sculpture will be displayed, we recommend allowing an additional 10 cm of clearance beyond the measurements provided.

This extra allowance accommodates natural fabrication variations and helps ensure your sculpture has sufficient room. If your installation area is particularly tight or restricted, please contact us before purchasing to discuss your spatial requirements.

Understanding your sculpture

Each FORMR sculpture is individually crafted, with organic folds, curves and proportions. These works do not have conventional, precisely defined length, height and depth dimensions. Measurements provide an overall guide to the scale of the piece.

Individual fabrication

No two FORMR sculptures are exactly alike. Each piece is developed with careful consideration of its folds, movement and composition. During final fabrication, additional panels, adjustments or alternative construction methods may be needed to achieve the intended aesthetic.

These refinements are an important part of our creative process. The final piece may be slightly longer, shorter or differently proportioned than its initial measurements. Such variations are a natural characteristic of creating an individual sculptural work, not a manufacturing defect.

Acknowledgement of measurements & variations

By purchasing a FORMR sculpture, you acknowledge and understand that:

  • All sculpture measurements are taken corner to corner and are an approximate overall size reference.
  • Sculptures are organic, individually fabricated works and do not have conventional or exact length, height and depth dimensions.
  • A minimum of 10 cm of additional clearance beyond the stated measurements is recommended when preparing your space.
  • Fabrication adjustments, including additional panels or alternative methods, may be made to achieve the intended final appearance.
  • These adjustments may result in variations to the final dimensions and proportions of your sculpture.

We believe these individual characteristics are what make each FORMR sculpture truly unique.

If exact dimensions or spatial restrictions are critical to your installation, please contact us prior to placing your order.
